I recently had the privilege of attending a keynote address by author, master marketer and entrepreneur Seth Godin. I want to share one idea in particular that truly pertains to those of you who question whether you should continue using promotional product as part of your marketing mix.
Modern marketing is about creating connections and in this digital age we are all part of a connection revolution. The pressure is on to share relevant content that brings value, trust, permission and an exchange of ideas while doing so in a real and human way. Not an easy task.
Seth Godin reminds us that even in this digital age, the digital world continues to need a tangible partner, and that, is promotional product, something that your customer says “thank you” for. I could bore you with statistics that support brand recognition when using promotional product but truth is, promotional product works when it’s done right.
Successful marketing promotions start with thinking about the end user. Incorporate a piece in to your marketing mix that is both creative and something that can be used in every day life. The more useful the item, the longer your brand will be in the hands of the end user. It’s as simple as that.
